Clay Artist in Milwaukee, WI
I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in Ceramics from University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. I also have my teaching certification from UWM which was completed in winter of 2021. Ceramics and teaching are two of my greatest passions, and I'm so lucky to be able to own my own art studio where I'm able to create a beautiful environment to learn about clay and art.
Visit the events page for information about classes and workshops.
I am heavily inspired by the natural world, animal folklore, and floral prints; all of which I recreate through drawings, sculptures, and different glaze combinations and finishes. I try to look at the world through a different light, allowing myself to expand on what it truly means to be human and explore how I interact with the world around me. I often find myself in an anxious dream-like state most days, and my work reflects this subconscious and memories of my childhood; often embodying change and transformation through fragile forms and imagery. The images and animals used in my work are representations of how I feel about myself, not necessarily self-portraits, but incorporating creatures with similar characteristics of myself that I feel connected to. My work speaks on protection, conflict, and things that bring me comfort. Some of the creatures I use don’t exist in the real world, but instead exist only in my subconscious as “guardians” of my mind.
